Light shapes how we as humans experience landscapes. For us, everything starts with light.
We honor the dark.
Recognizing that overlighting is wasteful, a disgrace, and unkind to the animals with which we share ecosystems–we use lighting lightly. We follow all dark skies and seaturtle lighting guidelines in protected areas and encourage all clients/collaborators to reduce their use of artificial lighting.
We light for safety.
We use lighting to support safe use of our spaces. We collaborate with site lighting experts to make sure safety requirements for facilities and public spaces are met.
We light for delight.
A few well-considered lights can enhance the landscape experience. We will assist with thoughtful placement and selection of fixtures for maximum benefit.
