Coastal Vista Design had extensive construction administration scope which gave our team the ability to coordinate with the client, site engineer, GC, and landscape contractor for collaboration on the details of every element. 11-month landscape installation was conducted in 8 phases.
Planting Intensity Zones.
For a campus of this scale, multiple zones of planting intensity were required. 85,000 plants were installed. We designed highly legible and decorative planting for the areas that were most visible. Throughout the edges of the site, we preserved and enhanced as much of the existing vegetation as was viable – while introducing new plant communities adapted to changing site ecologies.
Close coordination with the engineering team was required to develop an ecologically sound stormwater management strategy for this site.
Design for Management
For a luxury experience, design is just the starting point. Care is the key to long-term success. We developed a bilingual (English/Spanish) maintenance manual to give the full management team insight into the design intent.
